Manizales is a city located in the heart of Colombia's coffee region, in the department of Caldas. Situated in the Andes mountains at an altitude of 2,150 meters above sea level, Manizales is known for its mild climate, mountainous landscapes, and its role in producing high-quality coffee. It is a city with a rich cultural heritage and a vibrant university life.

History:
Manizales was founded on October 12, 1849, by settlers from Antioquia who arrived in the region during the Antioquian colonization. The city quickly developed thanks to coffee cultivation, which became the region's economic engine. Throughout its history, Manizales has been known for its resilience, rebuilding and modernizing itself after several natural disasters, such as earthquakes and fires.
