Pereira is the capital of the department of Risaralda and one of the main cities in Colombia's Coffee Cultural Landscape. History:
Pereira was founded on August 30, 1863, by a group of settlers led by Remigio Antonio Cañarte. From its inception, the city has been closely linked to coffee cultivation, which has been a key driver of its growth and development. In recent decades, Pereira has experienced significant progress in infrastructure and services, establishing itself as one of the most important cities in the region.
